Hybrid Slideshow

I’m pleased to announce the release of my Hybrid Slideshow wordpress plugin.

Hybrid Slideshow is a jQuery powered image slideshow with drag and drop image ordering. The slideshow can be inserted using a shortcode, widget, or php function call.

The options page includes settings for width, height, time between transitions, and transition lengths.

The markup produced is a simple html unordered list of images.

You can download the plugin from the WordPress.org plugins directory.

Installation

  1. Upload hybrid-slideshow.php to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory
  2. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
  3. Configure settings.
  4. Upload images. Your images need to be at least as large as the slideshow width and height settings.
  5. Add widget to a dynamic sidebar OR add [ hybrid_slideshow ] (remove the spaces on this) to post or page content OR place <?php echo hybrid_slideshow(); ?> in a template file.

Donate

Hybrid Slideshow is a free plugin but donations are happily accepted.

Excellent plugin – so simple to use. Would be great if it could start at random photo each time page reloads.

Nice and elegant plugin, simple and good. I tried it in a WP website and it works very well. Now I would like to add a different slideshow on another page, would that be possible?
    Thanks

    Great plugin! Works nicely.

    Just a question/issue:
I’m having a black background when the slideshow is loading in the ipad. Sometimes in some browsers randomly.

How could I change that background to be white #fff, as my site is white and looks not so good w/that flat black square in the beginning.

I’ll appreciate if you have an answer to fix this.

    Thanks,
    //Happy coding!

Fantastic plugin. Clean and Clear. However, just wondering if you can help me edit the file to make the “Title” a little smaller font? I’ve added your widget to the sidebar and I have the sidebar set at 250px width. The title looks way too big for the size of sidebar.

I was thrilled when I came upon your plugin. I use it as a widget in my sidebar. However, I switched themes and the widget area is narrower and I can’t figure out to adjust the slideshow widget title to be narrower. The height and width adjustments change the size of the images but not the header. I’m happy to edit CSS or whatever, I just can’t figure out what to edit.

Will it be possible to add a link to each picture to go to other pages in the site maybe featuring the pic clicked? Thanks a bunch!

  9. AJ says:

it would be great if you could set a different delay for any linked slides, or for each slide, otherwise, i love this plug in!

I love how intuitive your slider is, so hard to find one that doesn’t require a special featured image or data type, in theory if I wanted to make multiple sliders I could just create an array, correct?
